How we Approach Treatment

At Lewis Family Psychiatry, we believe in supporting you as a whole person, not just treating the symptoms. Depression isn't the same for everyone so that's why we are passionate about integrating Western medicine, Eastern wisdom and holistic approaches to help you live a fuller and happier life.

Here's how we can help:

Medications/Nutraceuticals

For some, antidepressant medications can be an essential part of improving your mood and outlook. The team might recommend genetic testing to find out which medications work best for your unique situation. If appropriate, nutraceuticals can be used for milder symptoms and/or an addition to traditional treatment.

Remember, finding the right medication may take time, but many people notice improvements by adhering to their prescribed plan.

Psychotherapy

Sometimes, all we need is someone who truly understands us. Through talk therapy, we'll explore together the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be holding you back. Psychotherapy is not just a tool to heal but to empower you with strategies to cope with life's challenges.

Lifestyle Integration

Small, intentional lifestyle changes can bring about significant transformations. Regular exercise, relaxation techniques like mindfulness or meditation, and reducing stress can all have a direct impact on your overall well-being. Integrating these practices into your life may feel like a small step, but the difference over time can be impactful.

Integrative Psychiatry

We believe mental health is deeply connected to your overall wellness. Our approach to Integrative Psychiatry combines Western medicine, Eastern wisdom and holistic approaches to help you on the path to feeling whole again.
