Meet Jill Robinson, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Hi, I’m Jill Robinson, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. My path to psychiatry has been a winding and deeply meaningful one—rooted in family medicine, community service, and a lifelong curiosity about the human experience.
I began my career as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery after earning my Associate Degree from Palm Beach State College. Those early years brought me face-to-face with the beauty and vulnerability of new life and the families who support it. I went on to complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. My early work in family and community health through the Florida Department of Health’s Healthy Start program opened my eyes to the larger systems that influence wellness—and the ways physical and mental health are inseparable.
When I chose to step away from clinical work to raise my three boys, my focus on family deepened in a different way. Serving on PTA and booster boards, volunteering in the community, and offering care at a local community health clinic gave me a new understanding of the challenges families face every day. It was during my time in community health that I saw the tremendous need for compassionate, accessible mental health care—especially for children and adolescents. That realization inspired me to return to school and pursue a Post-Masters Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate at Florida State University, where I graduated in 2023.
Where Medicine Meets Meaning.
Today, I bring together all these threads—medicine, family systems, community connection, and mental health—to offer a holistic and integrative approach to care. I view medication as one tool among many and believe in “starting low and going slow,” always reassessing and seeking to understand the whole person rather than just the diagnosis. My goal is to help patients and families feel supported, empowered, and seen—not rushed or reduced to symptoms.
My approach integrates evidence-informed psychiatry with holistic principles. I explore physical health, gut and hormonal balance, lifestyle, relationships, and stress to uncover root causes. I also value psychotherapy, mindfulness, and lifestyle interventions as essential components of healing. The human psyche, I believe, holds remarkable resilience—symptoms often carry intelligence and meaning if we take the time to listen.
At the heart of my work is connection. I want patients, especially families and young people, to feel safe, understood, and cared for. Healing begins when people feel truly seen. My hope is to help individuals not only manage symptoms, but rediscover stability, self-acceptance, and a renewed sense of possibility.
Outside of work, my life centers on family, friends, and the small beach town we call home—where everyone seems to know everyone. I love yoga, cooking, gardening, traveling, and long, thoughtful walks. My husband and I often have philosophical conversations with our oldest son, who studies philosophy, and I find those moments of reflection to be both grounding and joyful. My friends describe me as calm, steady, and a good listener—traits that naturally guide both my work and my life.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that healing isn’t about perfection—it’s about integration. It’s about learning to meet ourselves and others with compassion, curiosity, and respect for the complexity of being human.
